Because e-books are a direct reflection of your personal or brand’s voice, we prefer to work closely with our e-book clients. We’ll start with a conversation to get a feel for your goals, audience, and voice. From there, we’ll get to work creating an outline, finding reputable sources, and putting the e-book together.

Frequently Asked Questions about E-books

What topics can you write about?

At this time, we only write non-fiction e-books. We like to focus on our areas of specialization, which include manufacturing, health and wellness, lifestyle, business, and tech. However, we are open to discussion when it comes to topics that fall outside of these niches!

What if I already have some writing done?

We like to stick to the classics—Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and LinkedIn. If you have questions about other platforms, feel free to reach out and we can discuss our availability.

Do all your e-books sound the same?

Absolutely not! We work exceptionally hard to capture the tone and voice of our clients when writing an e-book. There’s a good chance that you’ve already read our work. Our goal is for your readers to never know that the book in their hands was written by a ghost writer.

How long is a typical e-book?

E-book length varies from one to another depending on several factors. When calculating length, we use the standard guidance of 250 words per page.

If you are going to give the e-book away as a freebie, then you may want to stick to 1,000 – 5,000 words (4 – 20 pages of written content). If you plan on selling the book on Amazon or another platform, you will likely want an e-book that is at least 20,000 words (around 80 pages of content).

How long does it take to write an e-book?

This is a tough one, because there are so many different variables to consider. In general, it’s best if you can contact us well in advance of your anticipated publication date. If you’re in a rush, let us know. We may be able to work with your timeline for an expedited fee. In some cases, we might need to work out a compromise on delivery time so that we don’t have to compromise on quality.

Who has copyright ownership of the finished product?

We generally work as ghostwriters and assume that our clients will retain copyright of the finished e-book. In some circumstances, clients choose to work with us as partners. In those cases, we would have joint copyright ownership.

Does People First Content get any royalties once my e-book is published?

We only charge for the work that goes into creating the content within your e-book. Unless we are working together as co-authors, we will not receive any royalties that come from the sale of your e-book.

Can you help us publish our e-book?

We do not publish e-books for our clients. As the author and owner of your e-book, you should be in control of publishing so that you can control pricing and other variables. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to self-publish on the Kindle website.
